Our standard step depth is designed to accommodate the vast majority of Golu displays and works well for most dolls and figurines.

If you have larger dolls, oversized sets, or simply prefer additional display space on each step, we also offer custom step depths to better suit your collection.

This isn't just another product—it started as a passion project.

My wife loves celebrating Navratri, and every year I watched her face the same frustration: finding suitable steps for a Golu display. Unless you imported expensive steps from India, the options were usually makeshift bookcases, stacked Amazon boxes, or bulky shelving that never looked right.

I knew there had to be a better solution.

Every detail of these steps was designed from the user's perspective. They assemble quickly without frustration, store compactly when the festival is over, and even keep the assembly tool stored inside the unit so it's always there when you need it. The result is a sturdy, purpose-built display that takes one of the biggest headaches out of setting up for the holiday.

These steps weren't designed by a large corporation—they were created by someone who understands the tradition and wanted to make celebrating it easier for others. Every improvement has been driven by real-world use and feedback from families who celebrate each year.

Our goal is simple: spend less time setting up and more time enjoying the festival with the people who matter most.

We chose high-quality plywood because it offers the best balance of strength, stability, weight, and value.

Unlike solid wood, plywood is much more resistant to seasonal expansion and contraction, helping the steps stay flat and stable year after year. It's also stronger for its weight and allows us to keep the product lighter and easier to move, assemble, and store.

A comparable version made from solid hardwood would be significantly heavier and would likely cost two to three times more due to the material and labor involved.

Just one—the included hex key.

Every set comes with the hex key needed for assembly, and it stores neatly inside the steps so it's always there when you need it. No screwdrivers, drills, hammers, or other tools are required.

Assembly takes just a few minutes, and when the festival is over, the steps can be quickly disassembled and stored compactly until next year.

At this time, we only offer local pickup and delivery within the greater Seattle area.

If you're located elsewhere, we're happy to work with you if you can arrange for someone local to pick up the order and package it for shipping to your location.

We're also exploring regional distribution partnerships in major metropolitan areas, where we would ship multiple units by freight to a local partner who would then distribute them within their area. This approach helps keep shipping costs reasonable while making our products more accessible.

Our 3-step model is a great choice for those just starting their collection, those with limited space, or anyone looking for a beautiful, compact display.

Our 5-step model is ideal for families with a growing collection or those who enjoy creating a larger display. It also gives you room to add new dolls over the years without immediately needing a larger set.

We explored this idea extensively during the design process and received feedback from many potential customers.

In the end, we decided not to make the steps expandable. While it sounds convenient, adding that functionality would have significantly increased the cost, complexity, assembly time, and number of parts. More importantly, it would have compromised the overall strength and rigidity of the structure—something we weren't willing to do.

Instead, we've chosen to focus on creating purpose-built step sets that are sturdy, simple to assemble, and designed to last for many years.

As your Golu collection grows, we have another idea we'd like to introduce in the future: a marketplace on our website where customers can buy and sell pre-owned step sets. We've seen the number of families who participate in Golu continue to grow each year, and we believe that trend will continue. Our goal is to make upgrading to a larger set easier while giving another family an affordable way to begin their own Golu tradition.

Our vision extends well beyond just Golu steps. We plan to continue developing products that make celebrating the festival easier and more enjoyable, including doll storage solutions, display accessories, decorative coverings, and, eventually, dolls themselves.

The Lamello Clamex connector is a premium, reusable furniture connector made in Switzerland that allows parts to be assembled and disassembled without screws, nails, or visible hardware.

Unlike traditional knock-down furniture that relies on exposed fasteners or cam locks, Clamex connectors are completely hidden inside the wood. Once the parts are aligned, they are tightened with a simple hex key, creating a strong, precise joint while maintaining a clean, furniture-quality appearance.

We chose Lamello Clamex connectors because they offer several advantages:

• Quick assembly and disassembly using a single hex key.

• Strong, secure joints that maintain excellent rigidity.

• Reusable connectors that can be assembled and taken apart many times without wearing out the wood.

While Clamex connectors are more expensive than traditional furniture hardware, we believe they provide a significantly better user experience and help create a product that is built to last for many years.

At this time, most of our steps are built to order, so same-day pickup is usually not available.

While we occasionally have an extra set on hand, those are typically reserved for demonstrations, product photography, or quality verification.

Each set begins with precision-cut components from a trusted local supplier, then is hand-finished, assembled, and inspected to ensure everything fits together exactly as intended. We believe this extra attention to detail results in a better product and a smoother setup experience for our customers.

If you have a specific deadline or festival date, please contact us as early as possible. We'll do our best to accommodate your timeline whenever we can.

For the longest life, store your steps flat in a dry location.

A garage is generally fine as long as it stays reasonably dry and the steps are protected from standing moisture. We do notrecommend storing them in an attic, where high temperatures and humidity fluctuations can be hard on any wood product over time.

An ideal storage location is inside your home, such as under a bed, in a closet, or another climate-controlled space.

Storing them flat will help keep everything protected and ready for next year's celebration.

Yes! Every model has its own assembly guide in the form of a step-by-step YouTube video.

Rather than providing a paper instruction manual, we've created videos that walk you through the entire assembly process for your specific model. We'll also be posting a separate video that shows the best way to disassemble and store your steps at the end of the season.

We put a great deal of thought into making assembly as simple and intuitive as possible. In fact, several components were intentionally designed to fit together during storage, making the entire system more compact and easier to organize until next year's Golu celebration.

If you misplace the included hex key, don't worry. The tool we include is a Wera 3950 PKL Stainless Long Arm Ballpoint 4.0 mm Hex Key, which can be purchased on Amazon or through many tool retailers.

While any standard 4 mm hex key will work to assemble the steps, we recommend the Wera replacement because its shape and length are designed to fit neatly inside the built-in storage location within the steps.
